This is definitely one of my favorite reads of 2021. A well written thriller. It has unreliable characters, multiple povs , creepy and has a lot of twists. In my opinion, its Alice Feeney’s best so far.
Adam and Amelia win a free weekend getaway to Scotland. They move away from civilization to a remote chapel that looks extremely creepy. Right from the start, you see the couples dynamics and its a trip that might make or break their marriage. Strange things start happening at the chapel and they realize, they have been invited here for a reason.
There are multiple layers to this novel. Adam’s face blindness, his writing career, power struggles in marriage, and the letter Adam’s wife writes every anniversary ( that she does not let him read). All these layers are slowly unraveled throughout this book in a right order, at the right time. If this wasn’t done right, this book would have failed miserably. I think that’s the best part about this book. It keeps us guessing throughout and the pace is just perfect. And the twist, I didn’t see it coming at all.
I listened to the audiobook version of it and I loved the narrators.
Rock, Paper, Scissors is definitely one of the best written thriller in recent times.
5 Stars!!
